Every year, the Passivhaus Trust organise a series of open days, showing off a range of buildings.
As part of this event, and as we continue to research our options and get inspiration for our self-build project, we met architect Tom Gresford at his newly constructed house in Chieveley, Berkshire.
A certified Passivhaus, The Old Water Tower gave us a great feel for what it’s like inside such a well insulated building. Although this particular house is well beyond our sort of budget, it has given us some ideas and food for thought.
We’re very much hoping to visit Tom again to have a chat about our potential project at Graven Hill in Bicester. Our intention was to build to Passivhaus if we could, and now we’re even more convinced it’s worth the extra effort.
